Our Firefighters Deserve Better: Exposing the Hidden CFA Budget Cuts!

Labor’s Budget Betrayal of Firefighters, Volunteer firefighters are being left in the cold. The recent State Budget cuts to the CFA (Country Fire Authority), SES, and Fire Rescue Victoria have sparked outrage, with Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria (VFBV) slamming the government for a lack of transparency and a cruel new emergency services tax.

Despite collecting record funds through this new tax, less money is reaching the CFA than ever before. The VFBV’s CEO, Adam Barnett, called out the government’s failure to confirm CFA funding, branding it a “sickening example” of political spin and broken promises. Instead of strengthening frontline services, funds are being diverted to public sector departments—leaving volunteers shortchanged and Victorian communities at risk.

The Nationals and Liberals are demanding answers. We stand with our firefighters, and we will continue to fight to scrap this unjust tax and restore full funding to our brave volunteers.
