A community alliance to stop the tax grab

Co-founder of Gippsland Jersey Speaks Out: Farmers Say “No” to Victoria’s Emergency-Services Levy

Live from the AXE THE TAX rally, farmers, business owners, pensioners, volunteers, local councillors, and politicians came together to send a clear message: Victoria’s new emergency-services levy is unfair and unsustainable.

Co-founder of Gippsland Jersey said it best: “Farmers are the backbone of this country. If we thrive, the country thrives. This government thinks our silence means agreement—but we don’t agree, and we definitely don’t support this tax. We don’t want handouts, just fairness. We are here today to remind the government: you are here to support us.”

With only 10% of the levy reaching the CFA, the rest is simply filling a budget hole while frontline services struggle. Communities deserve safety—not a hidden tax. Now is the time for everyone to speak up and make their voices heard
