Tomorrow Victoria faces catastrophic fire conditions.
Extreme heat, strong winds and dry landscapes mean that any fire that starts will be fast-moving, unpredictable and potentially deadly.
As communities prepare, our thoughts are firmly with those who will once again step forward to protect lives, homes, livestock and livelihoods.
CFA volunteers are standing up once more β despite carrying the growing burden of an Emergency Services Levy that is not being returned to the frontline in the form of safe, modern and reliable equipment.
Volunteers are being asked to face the most dangerous conditions imaginable, often with ageing or inadequate gear, while the levy they help fund fails to deliver what they need to stay safe.
Ambulance Victoria has now moved to a statewide RED escalation, a clear signal of just how serious and stretched our emergency response system is as this day approaches.
Across Victoria Alliance stands shoulder to shoulder with:
CFA volunteers
Career firefighters
Ambulance officers
SES, Forest Fire Management crews
All emergency services personnel –
You are all asked to run toward danger while others run away. You do it for your communities, for strangers, and for Victoria β and you deserve to be properly supported, protected and resourced.

To every emergency services worker heading into tomorrow:
Please be safe. Look after one another. Make the hard calls early.
Your life matters!
Your family and community need you home.
To all Victorians β stay informed, have your fire plan ready, and do not underestimate tomorrowβs conditions.
We are thinking of you all.
