The Allan government has set aside just $6m of its $1.55bn emergency services tax to reimburse 55,000 CFA and VicSES volunteers this financial year, equal to $109 each. That average allocation is less than half the $246 most volunteers would have paid under the new tax regime on an average $636,500 home in regional Victoria this financial year. Yet Premier Jacinta Allan and Treasurer Jaclyn Symes have repeatedly stated every eligible volunteer would be able to access a full tax rebate on their homes and up to $1070 on a farm
