In response to a question asking why the Government has not responded to Correspondence from Local Mayors and Councillors calling for a Moratorium on the Emergency Services Tax and for a Public Inquiry to be held, the Treasurer said:
‘I am advised that it has been sent. I am happy to share the response with you, if you like. Maybe, perhaps, they might have needed to double-check that they had received it, because my advice is that it has been sent.’

Will the Treasurer now apologise for misleading the Parliament and to Mayors and Councillors for wrongly claiming they had been responded to?
