A community alliance to stop the tax grab

Yesterday was National Family Business Day

While Labor MPs were busy snapping photos with small family businesses, did they bother to listen to the real struggles behind the scenes?

Albert Aiello, who had to close his 57-year-old family grocery store, recently slammed the Emergency Services Tax that pushed his business to the brink. “I don’t know what the state government thinks it’s achieving by putting the burden on small businesses—because most of them are owned by families,” Aiello said.

This tax was the final nail in the coffin for businesses already drowning in rising costs like electricity, taxes, and insurance. Small businesses are being crushed under this tax, and it’s time for it to end.

Labor’s political photo ops aren’t enough. It’s time for them to stop pretending and actually support the businesses that fuel our economy.
